FOSSA SatIoT

Satellite IoT service that gathers readings from sensors and machines in places without cell coverage, using FOSSA's own small satellites and its Nexus gateway device.

Why it matters

Energy, farming, logistics and infrastructure operators often have assets far from any network. FOSSA designs its satellites and ground devices in-house and offers dedicated capacity to governments and companies that want their own network.

How the technology works

Sensors send data either directly to a FOSSA satellite using LoRa or through a FOSSA Nexus gateway. Each satellite stores the messages and downloads them when it passes over a ground station, and customers receive the data through FOSSA's API.

FOSSA says it plans a constellation of 140 satellites.
