Halo propulsion module

ExoTerra's Hall-effect electric propulsion module for microsatellites, flown on DARPA satellites and supplied for Space Development Agency satellites.

Why it matters

Military satellite constellations need many propulsion units fast. A standard module that has flown helps prime contractors meet delivery schedules.

How the technology works

A Hall thruster ionizes a propellant gas and accelerates the ions with electric and magnetic fields. ExoTerra sells Halo thrusters with matching power processing units.

It reported a backlog of more than 200 modules in 2024 and delivered 21 to York Space Systems for SDA satellites in 2025.
