Cryo-Dock

Eta Space's planned commercial depot that would refuel rocket stages and transfer vehicles with cryogenic propellant through a standard automatic connector.

Why it matters

A working cryogenic depot would let upper stages and tugs refuel after launch, so they could carry heavier loads to the Moon and beyond. Eta Space says LOXSAT will hand off to Cryo-Dock once the test satellite proves the core technologies.

How the technology works

Spacecraft would dock to Cryo-Dock and take on cryogenic propellant through a standardized, automatic umbilical. Eta Space plans to build on the storage and transfer results from the LOXSAT flight.
