SCOT
Digantara's space-surveillance satellite, meant to grow into a constellation that watches satellites and debris from orbit instead of from the ground.
Why it matters
Ground telescopes and radars miss small objects and only see what passes overhead. Sensors in orbit can watch more often and from closer, which matters as orbits get crowded and as militaries want to know what other countries' satellites are doing.
How the technology works
SCOT is a space-situational-awareness satellite in low Earth orbit that observes other space objects. The first one launched on SpaceX's Transporter-12 rideshare.
Digantara has said it aims to deploy 15 space-surveillance satellites and two missile-tracking satellites between 2026 and 2027, feeding its tracking catalog and analytics software.
