Blue Moon MK1

An uncrewed cargo lander built to deliver equipment to the Moon's surface. NASA picked it in 2026 to carry agency equipment, but its first flight depends on New Glenn returning to flight.

Why it matters

It is the stepping stone to the larger crewed Blue Moon lander that NASA is funding for astronaut landings, and would give the US a second heavy cargo route to the Moon.

How the technology works

New Glenn's 7-meter fairing carries the lander to space. It then flies itself to the Moon and lands with its cargo.
