Mission Design Simulator
Simulation software for designing and testing a whole space mission, including rendezvous, docking and large constellations, before any hardware flies.
Why it matters
Testing autonomy and close-approach maneuvers in orbit is expensive and risky. Simulating them first, including with real hardware in the loop, catches problems earlier.
How the technology works
MDS models orbital mechanics, rendezvous and docking, constellation layouts and Monte Carlo runs, and can generate synthetic camera images to train vision systems. It runs faster than real time, connects to MATLAB and Simulink, uses the TU Delft Tudat propagator and has a Python API.
