Unicorn-2

Alba Orbital's PocketQube satellite bus, which customers can rent as a hosted-payload ride for their own experiment.

Why it matters

PocketQubes cost far less than cubesats, so students and startups can test hardware in orbit for tens of thousands of euros.

How the technology works

Unicorn-2 is a pico-satellite bus. Its first units carried a night-time imaging payload to map light pollution.

Alba offers hosted-payload slots on it and night-lights imagery from its own satellites.
